The dowry system, a centuries-old custom, has long been a cornerstone of matrimonial traditions in many societies. However, what was once framed as a traditional practice has increasingly been recognized as a catalyst for gender-based violence, systemic inequality, and financial exploitation.
Across the region, courageous women are taking to the streets to demand an end to this oppressive tradition. Holding signs demanding respect and equality, they are fighting to replace outdated customs with fundamental human rights. This article explores the voices behind the protests and the ongoing struggle to secure justice for women.
